One of the things I miss the most from when my kids were little is our story time moments. I loved bringing the characters to life by giving them unique (and often hilarious) voices. And here’s the thing … I didn't have to be good at it! Not that I was all that bad. My kids seemed to love it. But kids don’t care how good you are. They just love being with you and watching you as you step out of yourself and into the characters of a story. You are engaging with your kids in a playful level that touches their hearts and imagination. Using character voices, along with sound effects and dramatic pauses, helps bring stories to life! Circle April 8 on your calendar because the sky is putting on an amazing show! It’s called a Total Solar Eclipse and it’s the perfect opportunity to host a Watch Party! But What is a Solar Eclipse? God perfectly placed the Sun, Earth, and Moon into our solar system. Sometimes the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth, casting a giant shadow on the world. Kind of like taking a flashlight and making finger shadows on the wall. Only much bigger. Writing Prompt for KidsPretend you’re one of God’s amazing animals, munching on your favorite breakfast food near the tomb where Jesus was laid to rest. All of a sudden, something super special starts happening at the tomb. The big stone in front of the tomb starts moving, all on its own! Your heart starts racing as you watch in amazement. Then, out of the tomb comes Jesus, shining brighter than the sun! Now it’s time to grab your pencils, crayons — whatever you love to write or draw with — and share your story! |
